Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh left fans proud with his traditional yet modern appearance at the Met Gala 2025 in New York. His fans had an additional reason to boast when he interacted with the Colombian pop idol Shakira.
Dosanjh honoured his Sikh roots on the global platform as he walked the iconic stairs of the Metropolitan Museum in New York City wearing a turban (a symbol of Sikh identity), a kurta, and a tehmat (a long tunic and draped bottoms).

Dosanjh's team posted a fun clip, in which Shakira was seen talking to Dosanjh and Scherzinger seated together in a luxurious car.
The Waka Waka hitmaker was introducing everyone inside the car, and as the camera panned towards the Punjabi singer, Shakira said, "Diljit! Diljit!"
Dosanjh greeted her back, when Shakira said, "Hi to India." Dosanjh is among the few invited to dine inside Anna Wintour's exclusive soiree.
This marked Dosanjh's debut at Hollywood's biggest fashion night. He became the first turbaned actor-singer to debut at the Met Gala.
Dosanjh and Shakira attended the Met Gala in Nepalese-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung's creations.
The other Indian stars who attended the event included Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kiara Advani, Isha Ambani, and fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
